I was originally gonna do a very short version of this and the Niagara post at the same time, but I don't think I have the stamina to do the Niagara post right now. Niagara -was- three whole days, heh. So I guess I'll expand a tiny bit more on the goals instead. And also decide on my summer timetable, to be started next week.
( Goals Update - June 2009 )
Summer Timetable Days Mondays: free-for-all Tuesdays: clean Wednesdays: clean Thursdays: Ravelry Fridays: clean Saturdays: piano Sundays: Livejournal
Evenings Mondays: knit Tuesdays: cross-stitch Wednesdays: DS or fics Thursdays: spin Fridays: sewing Saturdays: free-for-all Sundays: read or write
Other things to do: scrapbooking (can't until my room is fully cleaned so I have space), Photoshop (hopeful but unlikely also), make cards
Why so much cleaning? My room is a mess, and so is the basement. I'm finally organizing my university notes, so I might as well do the rest of the basement.
I still wanna go cherry picking but it's completely unplanned as of yet. Lainie, interested? But I'm still car-less... Is Ian perhaps free on Sunday? (I should check out the websites before I say more.)
Now that I'm actually into summer, I'll have a "regular" schedule again (starting next week; this week we're going to Chil's for Canada Day), so I think it's time I made an actual timetable for myself. I've only successfully done it one year, but it was a very productive period. Yes, creativity -can- be scheduled (though in this case I'm not actually being all that creative, I'm just following pre-made patterns).
Currently trying to figure out how I'm gonna cook a meal at Chil's on Wednesday. And hoping it turns out okay, cuz it's a bit up in the air right now, lol. I can't remember where I put hellfire_angel's spaghetti recipe. Drat.
And now, finally, the Anime North post: ( What do you mean AN was last month? )

I'm caught up in Torchwood!!!(and Doctor Who)
Liz spoiler-ed me for a few things this season, including some of the last ep...but I forgive her this once. The impact was more important, I think. Waaaah. utsrrceha;nkjbyt
But now I need Torchwood icons and fics. (and Doctor Who) The hunt begins!!! (...in the morning...)

New month means icon change time, heehee. Yes, I've been terrible with updating my LJ, I know.
I just got a new board game. It has a new-board-game smell. You know, like new books? But stronger, and a little bit plastic-y. I don't like it, but wheee, game. I hope I like it. It's apparently 1-player-able, which is pretty damn awesome. Probably not nearly as fun, but still. It's called Agricola, in case any of you are board game fanatics (supposed to be one of the all-time bestest board games). Tonight I shall try and learn how to play, heh... I hope I don't fall asleep reading, I'm pretty tired.
We played Us & Them and the girls won. And then I also won at Caracassone - double win. I totally won at board games today = )
We went rock climbing this morning!!! It was actually quite fun. I'm sad we didn't have a camera on us today, but oh well. My arms are gonna cry at me tomorrow. Jess was definitely awesome today, and Ji was good too. There was a rope for rope climbing and I tried it cuz I could never go up ropes during PhysEd in elementary school. I actually did not bad today, but there were knots tied on this one. Liz and I tried so hard to get to the top, but we couldn't make it. And then for wall climbing, Chris failed me once, heh, but I forgive him - I kind of swung and hit the wall once when I fell. No worries, I'm more resilient than that *grins*
New board game!!!
*squishes all of you* You're all so great to me = )
I'll admit, I'm probably not as excited as I "should" be to go to Anime North tomorrow, but I'm still fairly excited. It's mostly cuz I'm not really into anime, I've only watched a few; and I don't own manga, I just read Liz's.
And also I'm extremely sad to have missed Hildreth performing, too bad both Zazu and I were busy today. I know we've missed a ton of stuff by not going today and not staying overnight. But I'm sure I'll still squee (c'mon, Heero's VA, albeit NA VA but still (and yes I'm aware he's done way more than that, but I don't actually know it)) and I'll still buy some stuff. And I think I'll probably have more fun than I'm expect. I'll be with lilzazu, after all = )
I wish I didn't have to leave early though. Oh well. The fun (re)starts in 9 hours!!!
Last year, I started a crazy task: complete 101 goals in 1001 days. It's been a year now, or 380 days to be exact, and while I'm nowhere near 38% done my 101 goals, I would at least say I'm not displeased with my progress. I'm at the point where there are goals on this list I know for sure I won't complete, but I'm still hopeful about others that are probably pretty unlikely. So if you're interested in the low-down so far, here it is:
( 101 Goals - 1-year mark )
Finished: 20 Failed: 1
Mid-September of this year is the halfway mark, so...just keep smiling? Lol. = )
June's Yarn Sale List This is a repeat of my list from a year ago. It's been "updated" but most of it is still the same. One day this will be up on Ravelry, I swear. If you'd like to see a photo of anything specific let me know and I'll do it right away.
Please leave a comment (with your email plz!!!) if you're interested, or contact me via email (silverseashells @ hotmail.com) or on Ravelry (username: gemnibug) and we'll discuss payment/shipping. Again, I'm willing to ship anywhere as long as you're willing to pay for it.
Each ball is $1.50 unless stated otherwise. Yarn colours are named as on the label (unless there was no colour name). Oh, and yes, I live in a smoke-free, pet-free home.

PS: Laine, you still haven't made me a Mai icon. I'm stuck in Avril... *chibi eyes*
I'm aliveeeeee. Well, I've always been alive, I just really haven't felt like going on LJ for quite a while. To be honest, I'm still not quite up to it, but I'm just kind of on to post the Goals update. Since the 1-yr mark is on Tuesday (May 5th), I'll save the real (aka more comprehensive) update for then. But I likely won't get around to that cuz I'll be packing for a trip that night. Go figure.
Quickie Goals Update - April
Finished 32) get into Teacher’s College for a B.Ed or M.Ed 36) learn to understand spoken Mandarin and to speak Mandarin (small conversations) 42) write a piece of (fan)fiction exactly 50 words long once every week for 2 consecutive months 56) watch all of Futurama
Failed --
Hmm, why do I feel like I'm 23 already? I blame captals_avatar. Silly clone-bear. Also, torricus, I'm sorry I can't make it to your shindig tomorrow eve, but I hope you have a fabulous birthday. *sends you froggies*
PS: Note to self, stop starting so many DS games. Finish some first!!!
No commentary this time because I'm sick. Waaaahhh. Luckily nothing really happened this month?

You know you're a total, total nerd when you're thinking of your journal content in terms of retrospective and prospective memory (ex. my upcoming To-Do list) and why some things have been forgotten and what memories have been altered possibly. But yesterday's Memory class was on metamemory, so I'm gonna blame it on that.
( Retrospectively... )
( Prospectively... )
Tonight, though, I'm just gonna finish my resume and watch some Whose Line clips and video game reviews, Yahtzee-style. I totally did not sleep enough last night to do anything else. I think I need a hug. That was a stupidly long post.
PS: Yay!!!!!!! natea21 got my package!!! *dances* PPS: One of the things that makes me giddy-happy is seeing someone wear a scarf I made for them (or barring that, hearing about it). *glomps Tori, who would be the most recent case*
Week 5
Surprise He thought his secret was perfect, but the strong scent of cacao gave him away. Dark. Venezuelan. I feign wonder as I tug and the ribbon yields. But my surprise is genuine as the chocolate melts into crisp apple and pear.
His smile tells me he planned it all along.

I know being a good friend is supposed to be rewarding, and is oftentimes is, but sometimes it's just bloody tiring. So much for doing homework.
I'm gonna watch Whose Line bloopers now.
PS: Sleeping in res means I can sleep with the window opened. Yay.
Week 4 Theme: still chocolate = )
The Rainbow Tree
Every year in the month of June Upon twilight’s rising full moon, The animals gather and enthuse Around a tree of countless hues.
The rainbow tree is special, see. It doles out treats for all, whoopee! And on their backs they all will sprawl To munch on colourful chocolate balls!
Poem meter + word count restriction = gaaahhh. So apologies for maybe some slight awkwardness in the reading. Meep.

School Update: -Bio and Psych tests both over, yay -the Bio test marks were curved by 10%, so I got a good mark, whee -Mandarin oral is soon...crapcrapcrap
School Update 2: - captals_avatar got accepted!!! Eee!!11!1!! -it has been brought to my attention that April 1st is less than a month away... *June is running around flailing in her mind*
Fingers Update: -much better than two weeks ago, but my joints still flare up a little -I don't think it's because of knitting, but it's definitely not helping the situation; Jon says it's posture to some extent - I think this might be true, I keep having to hold my arm up while teaching piano -I'll have to learn continental knitting so I can destroy my left hand instead
Work Update: -I made it to 2nd round of donning interviews!!! on Sunday... (yes, I applied, only to New though - happy Abhi?) -the coordinator at Rosedale asked if I wanted to go "full-time" after my school year ends until their school year ends = ) - it's nice to have an option
Knitting Update: -I've started another 2 projects...because I had to study (I realize this sounds illogical) -I have not finished anything... -I also just discovered I have one less ball of Cozy Wool than I thought...
Games Update: -I beat Chocobo Tales!!!! but wtf is that last battle??? -I really feel like playing DS right now
TV Update: -watched 1 ep of Junjou Romantica and 2 eps of Natsume -started Doctor Who Season 4
Writing Update: -I ...have not started ficcing -*headdesks*
A friend wanted to do some drabbles tonight, so I agreed. It's not often any of my RL friends suggest any sort of creative writing, so when it happens I really wanna make it happen. Apparently this time around it meant pausing my studying to write 5 not-so-great drabbles. (Writing these was like pulling teeth, man.) But anyways...
Prompts: any fandom, based on the first 5 songs generated from entire playlist (this totally did not work well for me) ( I guess they're song-ficlets? )
Time to read what my other friends wrote. *runs away to yggdriedi's journal*
Happy 175th Birthday, Toronto!!! I wish I could've gone to Nathan Phillips to see some of the festivities, but alas, had to get home. Despite the absolutely fantastic weather. But I did hang out with Laine for a little bit before work and with Chilton also a little bit after work. And I guess I did get to walk around without my jacket on, even if I did have to lug around my backpack. So it all evened out, I guess, lol.
Plus a friend of mine is on a sort-of date. Even though she's not really interested. But I'm expecting stories when she gets back, heehee.
So have any of you got any plans for this weekend?
*whistles a happy tune and munches on jelly beans*
Week 3
No Contest
I felt his gaze as I unwrapped the crinkling foil, his look longing, wanting. His eyes followed as I took a bite of the decadent delight.
But a chaste, smudgy kiss was all I was willing to share. After all, since it’s better than sex, what more do I need?
Edit (1:11 am, March 7th): Just a small edit to the excerpt.

It's not that I can't convince myself to do my Mandarin homework. It's that I can't convince myself to convince myself. So much so that I'm even thinking of not going to class tomorrow.
What the heck is wrong with me?
